Israel Embassy Protest
(Ireland, 2021)
With the ongoing and increased violence and discrimination of Palestinians by Israel along the Gaza Strip, also globally known as the biggest open-air prison. Palestinians face threats and expulsion from their own homes from their own homes by illegal settlers while experiencing harsh and unfair treatment by soldiers.
Years of the oppressive regime have caused countless and unnecessary deaths at the hands of its military, against unarmed protesters near its borders that were fighting for their way of life to be maintained.
In Dublin, Ireland, there were dozens of protests with one of them marching from the Spire all the way to the Israel Embassy for their voices to be heard. Placards and Palestinians flags were held up high and in-defiance of Israel's aggresive actions.
The chant, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” and “Free, free Palestine” could be heard continuously among the group, advocating for their lands and homes to be returned. However, the chant is arguably anti-semitic, calling for the annihilation of present-day Jews. In-turn, it is used as a fear tactic and propaganda to scare settlers and the Israeli population into making them victims of their oppressive dogma.
